The Green Mountain Derby Dames were founded in 2007 when the first intrepid rollergirls started practicing anywhere they could find space. The league now boasts more than 40 active skaters and had hosted their premier bout in February 2009. They are Vermont's first and only all-female, DIY, skater-owned and -operated flat track roller derby league.

All of the fabulous players of the Green Mountain Derby Dames are volunteers who spend countless hours each week practicing, promoting, and savagely beating each
other. This is not your grandmother's staged roller derby. This is real and they have the bruises to prove it.
